Mama Movie Review – This movie has ruined the sweetness of this word. Starring Megan Carpentier as Victoria and Isabelle Neslisse as Lily who are these 2 beautiful little girls who end up having to live in a cabin in the woods. For 5 years their uncle Lucas played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau never stopped looking for them, but right before he uses up all his money in the search, they are found.
After a small stay with the system they are deemed ok to be released to their family. Uncle Lucas is eager to take them home so that he and his girlfriend Annabel played by Jessica Chastai can start caring for them. Unaware of what they were getting into or who was not willing to give them up this creepy movie gets good.
The storyline is believable even though the scare factor in the movie is mostly cgi. It is nice to see a true scary movie with no stupid blondes or nudity and very little profanity, guess thats why it was able to be a PG -13 flick. Even without those aspects it is a legit, edge of your seat, accidentally scream out loud, spill your popcorn kind of movie. Props to “lily” for portraying such a believable roll for a young actress. I’ve never been so creeped out by a little girl which made the ending more satisfying to me, which I will add that you cannot predict the ending-trust me, I tried and until the very end it changes into something you would not expect .
I really have nothing bad to say about this movie. The acting is believable , the scare factor is over the top, and I would call you an idiot if you don’t go see this movie. I give it 5 stars and a moon!
