Three americans visiting Europe decide to take an extreme tour that became extremely terrorizing! Finally, a long awaited horror film worthy of it’s genre. When I sat down in my seat I expected this to be a somewhat scary movie but I had no idea I would leave the theatre with my body aching from being so tense and my eyeballs hurting from being open so wide and unable to blink from death defying blood curtailing fear of what was about to happen and what wouldn’t stop happening! True to other horror movies there is always the idiots (Jesse McCartney as Chris and Jonathan Sadowski as Paul) who you can not help but to yell at the entire movie and hope they take your warning to get the hell out of there, followed by the pretty skinny brunette (Devin Kelley as Amanda) who thinks she is brave enough to save the day. With characters like this you cannot help but laugh a little between the nail biting suspense. I admired that it   had every aspect that you look for in horror flick. Having its predictable moments along side the unknown terror lurking in a nuclear abandoned town. There is moments when you think you know what to expect but shockingly you are mistaken. It is well worth the 90 minutes and I highly advise that if you have a heart condition or anxiety disorder, you may want to re think watching it and head into the next theatre playing “What to expect when your expecting” This would be a great first date movie if you want your date to hold on to you tight throughout it. Or this may be a terrible first date movie if you are shy about your significant other seeing you scream, almost wet the seat, or lose your tub of popcorn.

I would give “Chernobyl Diaries” 5 stars considering I was paralyzed with fear, but since most aren’t like me , a 4 1/2 star is appropriate. Considering The story was written by Oren Peli  who’s known for scaring movie goers with a little movie that you may of heard about called “Paranormal Activity”.  If you are looking for something suspenseful, edge of your seat,  nail biting , with a realistic storyline, and ignoring my warnings then this is the road trip to take.
