Legend Of Tarzan Movie Review

I was fairly excited to watch the new “Legend of Tarzan” film that I was practically swinging on vines headed into the theater (which was a little hard since I was holding nachos and a bag of popcorn). A little action, a dash of romance, and some Phil Collins music, am I right? Nope! While […]

The Jungle Book: Movie Review

Being a reviewer for MovieFloss, I definitely get to check out some great (and sometimes not so great) films quite often. But rarely there comes a time when a film can take me back to my childhood. So I jumped at the opportunity to watch (and hopefully enjoy) the new live-action “Jungle Book” by director […]

Burnt: Movie Review

Now, I’ve never been a great chef (just ask my roommate about my best friend, our smoke detector), but I can still appreciate good food and the art behind its creation. The drama that happens behind the scenes in the kitchen is something a patron never sees, but director John Wells showcases it in all […]

Top 5 Slasher Films for Halloween Eve

Everyone enjoys a good slasher film to get their blood pumping and their mouth screaming “DO NOT GO IN THERE!” Here’s my choices for Top 5 Slasher Films! 5. TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: Five friends visiting their grandfather’s house in the country are hunted and terrorized by a chain-saw wielding killer and his family of grave-robbing cannibals. […]

Everest Movie Review

Chills. Goosebumps. Anxiety. Those are all things that I had when watching “Everest,” the new film from director Baltasar Kormákur, which chronicles the 1996 disaster on the grand mountain. Now, I am obviously not comparing my movie watching experience to the horrific trials that the climbers experienced, but the film takes you right into the […]

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation Movie Review

“Your mission, should you choose to accept it…” I remember hearing those words since I was a kid, watching old episodes of the “Mission Impossible” television show with my parents. Oh man, how I dreamed to be a part of the IMF, a very covert operations team, whose skill level (and high tech tools) out […]

Ant-Man Movie Review

Okay, I may be a little biased writing the review for this film since it is no secret that I am a HUGE Marvel comics fanatic. But even I was sort of taken aback when Marvel announced that “Ant-Man” was going to kick off Phase 3 of its cinematic universe. I mean, Ant-Man? ANT-MAN?! How […]

San Andreas: Movie Review

Oh man, I was so excited to finally screen the film “San Andreas.” Having experienced firsthand the 1991 volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines as a kid (and yes, I know I’m showing my age), natural disasters have always intrigued me. Whether it’s a deadly tornado sweeping the land or even a tsunami […]

True Story Movie Review

As I was grabbing my popcorn and hot dog at the concession stand before the film started, I started wondering what “True Story” would be about. I hadn’t heard any press or reviews about the film (apparently, that’s what I’m here for), so I was kind of filled with a good sense of anticipation. James […]

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Movie Review

The Hobbit:  The Battle of the Five Armies Movie Review – Having been a huge fan of “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy, I was extremely excited to review Peter Jackson’s final “Hobbit” movie, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.” This film completes the entire saga based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, […]

The Theory of Everything Movie Review

The Theory of Everything A Brief History of Time. That title alone is world-famous, a book in which acclaimed British astrophysicist Stephen Hawking explains a variety of topics ranging from black holes to the Big Bang Theory. In Focus Features’ new film, The Theory of Everything, director James Marsh beautifully shows audiences the life story […]
