Jan de Bont (Speed, Twister) will direct an English-language live-action telling of Mulan, the story about the young female warrior named Hua Mulan who joins an all-male army. Chinese superstar Zhang Ziyi will portray the title heroine first mentioned in a 6th century poem titled “The Ballad of Mulan” which was popularized around the world by Disney’s musical telling of the ancient story.

You may remember Zhang Ziyi from the films: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), House of Flying Daggers (2004), and Memoirs of a Geisha (2005).

Only one American hero has earned the rank of Green Beret, Navy SEAL and Army Ranger. Just one operative has been awarded 16 purple hearts, 3 Congressional Medals of Honor and 7 presidential medals of bravery. And only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet. In 2010, Will Forte brings Saturday Night Live’s clueless soldier of fortune to the big screen in the action comedy MacGruber.

In the 10 years since his fiancée was killed, special op MacGruber has sworn off a life of fighting crime with his bare hands. But when he learns that his country needs him to find a nuclear warhead that’s been stolen by his sworn enemy, Dieter Von Cunth (Val Kilmer), MacGruber figures he’s the only one tough enough for the job.

Assembling an elite team of experts-Lt. Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) and Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig)-MacGruber will navigate an army of assassins to hunt down Cunth and bring him to justice. His methods may be unorthodox. His crime scenes may get messy. But if you want the world saved right, you call in MacGruber.

Trying to recover from a sudden break-up, Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl) believes she’ll never fall in love again. But when she reluctantly joins her parents on a trip to the French Riviera, Jen happens to meet the man of her dreams, the dashing, handsome Spencer Aimes (Ashton Kutcher). Three years later, her seemingly impossible wish has come true: she and Spencer are newlyweds living the ideal suburban life – that is, until the morning after Spencer’s 30th birthday when bullets start flying. Literally.

It turns out Spencer never bothered to tell Jen he’s also an international super-spy, and now Jen’s perfect world has been turned upside down. Faced with the fact that her husband is a hit man, Jen is determined to discover what other secrets Spencer might be keeping – all the while trying to dodge bullets, keep up neighborly appearances, manage the in-laws…and work out some major trust issues.

And you thought suburban life was easy.

Well ‘Machete” did and did it well. This may not be a movie to bring a date to, but if by chance you do they will be very entertained if they survive the first 15 minutes of it…..

Danny Trejo plays the role of Machete a Mexican federale who comes to Texas as a day laborer and finds himself in quite a predicament. Being forced to shoot the Senator of Texas played by Robert De Niro who wants nothing more than to keep out illegal aliens from crossing the border into his state. De Niro plays such a convincing that you find yourself saying “did he really just say that?!”
This movie is packed with a bunch of great actors like Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin, Jessica Alba, Don Johnson and Lindsay Lohan.
So if you enjoy movies like Rambo and Planet Terror with a comedic twist then Machete won’t disappoint.

I recommend this movie even though I wasn’t quite sure if I should have been offended considering it was full of stereotypical remarks were made towards Hispanics. And don’t you forget “Machete don’t text.”

When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer (Louis Herthum), the Reverend Cotton Marcus (Patrick Fabian) expects to perform just another routine “exorcism” on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell (Ashley Bell) is possessed by a demon who must be exorcised before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy.

Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus’ own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell – and themselves – before it is too late.

This is what Paranormal Activity resurrected after The Blair Witch started more than a Decade ago. Thou, I am almost positive this film will NOT achieve the success of it’s predecessors. The main thing that separate this from the rest is the humor in the film, not over the top but very subtle as to give the film a sense of realism. Patrick Fabian, who by the way has appeared in many TV shows such as Veronica Mars, CSI, Saved by the Bell, Beverly Hills, 90210 and many more, did an outstanding job in portraying his character. Ashley Bell, who is also no stranger to TV series, was as creepy as they come. Just like Jennifer Campbell did for “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” Bell did for this one, somehow contorted her body to give us the illusion of what it would be like to be possessed by a demon.

All in all, this movie was ok. It was entertaining at most. I did find it to be creepy but not scary so do not expect to be sacred out socks. Very weird ending, leaving no answers but a small glimpse at why and how everything began.

Ghost has one last heist for the guys. He wants them to jack an armored car carrying 25 to 30 million dollars. With suspicion
raising within the group, Gordon Jenning (Idris Elba) stated, “We’re taker, gents. That’s what we do for a living. We take.” Now, with all on board, they do what they do best, take. Meanwhile a tough boy detective (Mat Dillon) is right on their heels. “Takers” was directed by John Luessenhop from a story and screenplay written by Luessenhop, Gabriel Casseus, Peter Allen, John Rogers and Avery Duff.

Right off the back, action! Then, slow story line, then, more action! The movie all together was a B-rated movie. I admit the action scenes were well filmed and pretty cool to see. But, other than that, the movie didn’t meet my standards. They gave the good actors small parts, and the ones who can’t act, the big parts. Personaly, it was the movie The Italian Job with a different outlook.

Brittany Murphy stars as Mary, who brings her new boyfriend (Dean Cain) to the hospital for minor outpatient surgery. But when she returns later to pick him up, he has mysteriously vanished. The police can’t help her. Is the hospital administrator involved in a cover-up? Could Mary’s increasingly frantic state be connected to her previous psychiatric issues? Is it possible her boyfriend doesn’t exist at all?

Brittany Murphy was a hardworking actress who was juggling multiple movie projects in the months leading up to her unexpected death.

While none of the films boasted the big budgets of Murphy’s “8 Mile” or “Sin City,” directors who recently worked with the 32-year-old actress say she was dedicated, insightful and happy as she wrapped two indie thrillers and prepared to start shooting a romantic comedy next month.

Murphy was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after collapsing at her Hollywood Hills home Sunday morning. The county coroner’s office is awaiting the results of toxicology and tissue tests before releasing an official cause of death.

Murphy spent the month of June shooting “Abandoned,” a thriller in which she stars as a woman who embarks on a frantic search for her boyfriend when he disappears from a hospital after a routine treatment.

Director Michael Feifer said the actress was delightful to work with and dedicated to the project.

After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. On the day of her artificial insemination, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O’Loughlin) – a man with real possibilities.

Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. When Zoe nervously reveals the reason for her unpredictable behavior, Stan commits fully and says he’s in. Never before has love seen a courtship where a wild night of sex involves three in a bed – Stan, Zoe and the ever-present massive pregnancy pillow. Or, where “date night” consists of being the “focal point” at a near-stranger’s water birth which does for kiddie pools what “Jaws” did for swimming in the ocean. The real pregnancy test comes when both of them realize they really don’t know each other outside of hormonal chaos and birth preparations. With the nine month clock ticking, both begin to experience cold feet. Anyone can fall in love, get married and have a baby but doing it backwards in hyper-drive could be proof positive that they were made for each other.

Emily suspects that the parents have been abusing Lillith, and proposes to her department to take the child away from her parents’ custody. Emily’s fears are confirmed when Lillith’s parents try to kill her by roasting her in the oven at their home. Emily saves Lillith with the help of Detective Mike Barron (Ian McShane). Lillith is originally sent to a children’s home but she begs Emily to look after her instead. With the agreement of the board, Emily is assigned to take care of Lillith until a suitable foster family comes along. In the mean time, Lillith’s parents are placed in a mental institution.

Not too long after Lillith moves in, strange things begin to happen around Emily and her work. Another of Jenkins’s cases, a boy named Diego, suddenly murders his parents one morning, and Detective Barron informs Emily that somebody phoned Diego from her house the night before the crime. As she is suspected of involvement in the incident, Lillith undergoes a psychiatric evaluation by Emily’s best friend Douglas J. Ames (Bradley Cooper). During the session, however, Lillith turns the evaluation around, asking Douglas what his fears are and taunting him with her own threats. That night, after receiving a strange phone call in his apartment, Douglas is panicked by the sight of a mass of hornets coming out of his body. He is overcome by his childhood fear of hornets until he fatally injures himself in his bathroom.

Emily gradually becomes fearful at having Lillith in her home, so she heads to the mental asylum for answers from Lillith’s parents. They tell her that Lillith is a demon who feeds on feelings, and that they tried to kill her in an attempt to save themselves. Lillith’s father tells Emily she must kill her and the only way to do so is to get her to sleep. Shortly after Emily leaves the asylum, both parents die in unusual circumstances. Lillith’s mother is fatally burnt to death and her father is stabbed with a fork.

Detective Barron initially thinks Emily should seek psychiatric help, but is later convinced when he receives a strange phone call in his home from Emily’s cellphone, which is being used by Lillith. He arms himself at the police precinct to aid Emily in handling Lillith. However, he inadvertently shoots himself when Lillith makes him imagine he is being attacked by dogs. That night, Emily has Lillith drink tea spiked with sedative. While Lillith is asleep, Emily sets her home on fire. Firefighters promptly appear to extinguish the fire, but Emily is shocked when Lillith appears next to her.

The police offer to escort Emily and Lillith to a temporary place to sleep. As Emily is following the police cars, she suddenly takes a different route and drives her car at a high speed, hoping to bring fear to Lillith. She then drives the car off a pier. As the car sinks, Emily struggles to lock Lillith (now in the form of her demon self) in the trunk by folding the rear seats against her. Emily then exits the car, but as she swims away, Lillith grabs her leg after punching a hole on the car’s left tail light section. Emily struggles to break free until Lillith finally lets go as the car continues to sink. She climbs back ashore, relieved to be rid of Lillith.

In a small peaceful fishing town on the outskirts of New York lives a very dysfunctional family. Vince Rizzo, starring Andy Garcia, was born and raised on City Island, He works as a correctional officer, but has always had a dream of becoming an actor. Even though it is his dream, he keeps it a secret and tells his wife, Joyce, Julianna Margulies, that he is going to play poker. Joyce thinks he is seeing another woman instead. Rizzos’ daughter is supposedly going to school full time but, is really stripping at the local strip club. And Rizzos’ son has an obsession with their 300 pound neighbor.

During the movie someone from Vince’s past sort of walks into his life. While Vince is dealing with his midlife crisis, Joyce, who feels neglected starts to pay attention to a good looking man who is doing some work in the back yard. This movie was such a great movie to see. It had the drama and the comedy i like. The plot brings in great, corky, characters that you cant help but like. I loved the acting and the plot. Although, the ending was predictable and it started off a tad bit slow, in the end I was laughing my head off.
