One of my most anticipated movies of this year, for a multitude of reasons, Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk has now provided audiences with its second preview. The scope of Nolan’s first foray into a war film will, per usual Nolan, be epic. Just from the score accompanying the first trailer, you feel stranded alongside the soldiers whose time is ticking. This is an often forgotten, at least in American history lessons, part of the war whose time has come to be told and who better than Christopher Nolan? As a massive Peaky Blinders and Inception fan I am so amped to see Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy, and full disclosure I am also stoked to see Harry Styles’ first acting gig. Imagine working with all these dudes! I mean, Kenneth Branagh (who looks so rad in the new Murder on the Orient Express still) and Mark Rylance are in this too! This will all culminate in one of the best films of the year, and another classic war epic; quote me on that.
War should not be taken lightly, this film will surely portray that. Nolan may indirectly provide audiences with a stark reminder of the costs of global conflict.
