Jessica Alba in “Spy Kids 4″

According to THR, Jessica Alba (The Killer Inside Me, Fantastic Four) is in talks to star in Spy Kids 4, writer-director Robert Rodriguez’s planned reboot (of sorts) of the family-oriented Spy Kids franchise. Like Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Spy Kids 4 will be, for better or for worse, released in 3D. Rodriguez obviously liked what he saw in Alba’s supporting roles in Sin City five years ago and Machete, the low-budget, Mexploitation flick that opens September 3rd, to bring her back for a role in his next film.

In Spy Kids 4, Alba will play a former spy, the mother of a baby (like Alba in real life) and step-mother to two preteen children. The stepchildren will take over the “Spy Kids” mantle first worn by Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara. In the previous installments, the parents, played by Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino, were supporting characters. If that’s the case, Alba might be the most or second most, depending on who signs on to play her husband in the film, credit, but be off-screen for long periods of time

According to sources, Toy Story 3, one the best animated, and live-action, movies of these past few years has become the highest grossing animated film of all time. The film has brought in more than $920 million worldwide, surpassing Dreamworks Animation’s Shrek 2 ($919.8 million worldwide) for the title.

WB doesn’t want to share Ryan Reynolds

According to the internet, WB has got themselves a taste of actor Ryan Reynolds and they are just not willing to share. As you know Reynolds played Deadpool in the film “XMen Origins: Wolverine” and there has been rumors about adapting a spin-off Deadpool movie. They are already greenlighting a Green Lantern sequel and rumor has it will be a trilogy, that could potentially pre-occupy Reynolds for the forseeable future.

Blockbuster and Comcast Team for DVDsByMail.com

Comcast has struck a marketing partnership with Blockbuster to offer cable subscribers discounts on DVDsbyMail.com, a Netflix-style service that offers a selection of some 100,000 movies and TV shows.

“The point of our relationship with Blockbuster is to give our customers a complementary option to the on-demand and online video content available to them,” Comcast vice president of corporate communications Jennifer Khoury Newcomb said.

In addition, Comcast is testing a “store-within-a-store” program to market triple-play packages in 13 Blockbuster stores in Portland, Ore. That trial began in June and the cable operator is looking to expand into other markets in the future.

Pirate of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides will be 3D

Get ready for some up-close and personal with Johnny Depp. The new Pirates of the Caribbean will be presented in a 3D format. I am just glad that new technology hasn’t developed smellavision in conjunction with 3D because I bet those Pirates smell pretty bad.

Mission Impossible 4 & Men in Black 3 release Dates.

According to Fandango both Mission Impossible 4 and Men in Black 3 have nab their theatrical release dates.

Originally set to come out Memorial Day 2011, Mission Impossible 4 has been pushed back to December 16, 2011. Some argue Paramount made the move to make room for J.J. Abrams‘ Super 8, also due out next summer.

Men in Black III has grabbed a release date of May 25^th, 2012. An official press release confirms Will Smith is set to return, and that Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin are in advanced negotiations to co-star alongside Smith. The film will be shot in 3D (which we expected), and Barry Sonnenfeld will return behind the camera. The plot, unfortunately, is being kept under wraps.

Final Destination 3D not Final

Since Final Destination 3D (4th installment) did so well at the Box Office, the studio has decided to plan for a Final Destination 5. Even thou Final Destination 3D was originally pegged to be the final installment in the horror franchise. Are you ready for more?
